First edition was published by Thornton Butterworth in November 1920 at 3/6.

Newnes probably reprinted for several years from an unchanged textblock. The copy shown is a reissue from 1926 as William - The Conqueror is the last Crompton title listed in the blurb on rear panel.

This 2/6 cheap edition was illustrated by Thomas Henry who drew both the dustjacket and illustration within the textblock. The dustjacket design is in the familiar Just William format.

Undated. No front free endpaper. Two advertisements to rear for The Humorist and The Happy Mag. Rear free endpaper present.
